About Me

Hello, my name is Elvira Bruscia. I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP). I am a qualified counsellor and run a private practice in Bury, Greater Manchester. I also carry out work from client’s homes. I am fully insured to practice, have regular supervisions to ensure my work is effective and recognise the importance of continuous professional development.

I bring to my Counselling role a wealth of experience gained in health and social care. This includes over 20 years supporting individuals within the community and various care settings. These include a drug rehabilitation centre, brain injury unit, adults with learning disabilities, the elderly and with a homeless charity services. 

My Approach

I work as a person centred counsellor. I am a humanist and treat people with warmth, understanding and respect. I believe in people and enjoy empowering them to make the best decisions for themselves. I get great pleasure in watching people grow and develop as individuals. My aim is to offer a warm, safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore any issues that may be important to you at this time.

I have worked with a diverse group of people, including both adults and young people. I provide counselling covering a wide area, such as anxiety, bereavement, trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, loss, historical child abuse, flash backs, mood swings, anger, self-esteem, fear, bullying, behavioural issues, sex offenders, suicidal thoughts/attempted suicide, learning disabilities, carer support, victims of abuse, social anxiety, gender identity and sexuality, obsession and compulsion, addiction such as drug, alcohol, on line gambling. Phobias such as agoraphobia, fear of being sick/becoming ill, just to name a few.
